Tree Stump Grinding
Tree stump grinding is the safest and most effective way to remove a tree stump. A&P Lawn and Landscape will grind stumps 3 to 6 inches below the ground surface and also cut away any visible surface roots. If you’ve considered leaving a tree stump in place to decay naturally, you may want to reconsider. There are several reasons to remove tree stumps as quickly as possible after a tree is cut down.
Remaining stumps and their decaying roots can pose hazards to human foot traffic. Decaying stumps and roots create voids in the soil when decomposing. These low spots can cause someone to lose their balance.
Also, decomposing roots can have a negative impact on new trees or bushes planted in the area after tree removal. They become magnets that attract destructive insects like termites and other wood-boring insects. A&P recommends removing any diseased tree root before it can spread disease to other trees and shrubbery nearby.

Tree Removal Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question or concern that is not listed here, feel free to contact us directly.
What Is Your Residential Service Area?
Our residential tree trimming service area includes homes located in Arlington, Bedford, Benbrook, Burleson, Crowley, Dalworthington Gardens, Euless, Grand Prairie, Hurst, Irving, Kennedale, Mansfield, and Pantego
What Is Your Commercial Service Area?
Our commercial landscaping service (including tree trimming) covers the entire Metroplex. As a general guideline, we restrict tree service to our ongoing commercial clients. But if you have a question and are not a current customer, please call. We will do everything in our power to help you find a solution to any tree problem you have.
Is There A Charge For Estimates?
No. A&P does not charge for estimates. Each site is unique, so it is necessary to physically come out to the location to see what equipment will be needed to do the job safely.
Do I Need To Be Home For The Estimate?
You don’t need to be home. On the initial call, our staff will document all requests for work to be done, mark all trees to be removed (if possible), and request a phone number to reach you in the event we have any questions while at your location.
Will Tree Stump Grinding Damage My Landscape?
Not when it’s done properly. We have a machine that has extra tires to minimize the pressure on a lawn and we also have large plastic mats we can put down to protect softer areas from being torn up.
If You Remove The Stump Will It Eliminate The Termites & Ants?
While we can’t guarantee that all termites and ants will disappear, grinding will significantly reduce and probably eliminate those insects since what they were using as a home is now gone and starting to decompose into the soil.
Do you remove the stump grinding debris?
Yes, we offer that as an optional service. We can also bring in topsoil, seed and straw – you just add water and it will be lawn in no time.
